Please join us in congratulating Katie Fields for being selected as the 2016 Andres Nazario Diversity Award Recipient by the Florida Association for Marriage & Family Therapy (FAMFT)!!! Katie received this distinguished award at the FAMFT conference in Orlando. The NCFAMFT have a special connection to Andres Nazario himself, as one of the co-founders of the Gainesville Family Institute, and his socially just approach to therapy and focus on diversity in this community. Katie is being recognized for her work here in Gainesville with the SW Advocacy Group (SWAG), the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding, and Peace4Gainesville.

The purpose of the Andres Nazario Diversity Award is to recognize individuals within our professional community that have demonstrated outstanding achievements and sustained commitment in the pursuit of awareness and inclusion of cultural diversity in their community and/or workplace. Every year the FAMFT seeks to honor outstanding individuals who embrace and promote diversity by demonstrating dedication to raising awareness of diversity issues and/or addressing specific needs of underrepresented individuals within their community. This year it is our own Katie Fields!!! Please join me in congratulating her as the recipient of this honorable award, as well as thanking her for all of her contributions to our community!
